A Lock for Flint: Diameter & Conductivity. S.H. Shakman

For a majority of eight (hydrated) ions listed*, diameter* &
conductivity** may be approximated as cube-root of volume &
inverse-square-root of weight, resp., of fully-hydrated ions
per Flint***. Anomolous results may be improved (alt.) for
(a) both size and conductivity of Cl- by assuming hydration
number [H] of half the prescribed maximum; (b) conductivity
of SO4-- by assuming ion is anhydrous when measured for con-
ductivity; & (c) diameter of IONIC SIZE AND CONDUCTIVITY HPO4-- by speculatively deriv- Ion Diameter Conductivity ing it as the cube-root of 2 Obs* Calc Ob** Calc H fully-hydrated ionic volumes.
